Fluttershy is crying.  Why?  Because she just listened to a heartbreaking story of a very talented person here on dA.  The story of *Goddess-ofthe-Night (Karine Coenen) has been going around the fandom for a while now and some or most of you have probably heard about Karine before.  For those of you who don’t know, Karine is very ill with cancer and she will be dead before next summer.

Fluttershy sends out this plea to all who care enough to listen to Karine’s story.  Listen to Karine’s new video below and take to heart the message that the *Goddess-ofthe-Night has for all of us.




Karine Coenen mentions in one of her DeviantArt journals how, despite universal healthcare in Belgium, her insurer seems to be able to legally withhold treatment for her just because she is behind on her payments.  Even employers reject her because of her disease, and she can’t expect any help from her abusive family.

For the past couple of weeks, an effort started by ~Tinker-Jet has been running to help save the life of *Goddess-ofthe-Night  However, with less than 20 days left on the clock, only (as of the time of this journal) $763 of the $30,000 goal has been reached to help Karine get the chemotherapy she needs to save her life.  Quite frankly, I’m surprised that the goal hasn’t been surpassed yet. Surely if the pony fandom can raise more than $60,000 in less than 36 hours for a Brony Documantary, then something like saving a precious human life should be a no brainer at a mere $30,000 goal.




*Goddess-ofthe-Night is a wonderful person and an extremely talented artist. She should not be allowed to suffer and eventually left to die…..to fade into oblivion.  Fluttershy requests that if anyone can pitch in to help save Karine’s life with the much needed chemotherapy treatments, then please go to “Karine's Chemotherapy Fund” [link] to help out.  If you are not able to help out financially, then Fluttershy asks that you spread Karine’s message around and get the word out everywhere and anywhere possible.
